Carpenter Lead Hand Job Description

At Green Island Builders, we are seeking a skilled Carpenter Lead Hand to join our team. As a Carpenter Lead Hand, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of residential and commercial projects, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of carpenters to complete construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in carpentry
  • Valid driver's license
  • Own transportation
  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, and punctuality
