Job Title: Senior Carpenter Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Carpenter to join our team at Green Island Builders. As a Senior Carpenter, you will be responsible for leading a team of carpenters and overseeing the construction of residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of carpenters and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing delays.
  • Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in carpentry, with a strong background in leading teams and overseeing projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
