Overview

We are seeking a skilled Energy Performance Engineer to join our dynamic food manufacturing team at Maple Leaf Foods. As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of our plant and upholding regulatory compliance.

Compensation

The salary for this position is estimated to be $48.27 per hour, offering a competitive rate for experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and operating various utilities equipment and processes, including steam plants, HVAC, compressed air, water systems, natural gas, and refrigeration.
  • Collaborating with contractors, manufacturers, and vendors to streamline operations and optimize efficiency.
  • Developing and managing essential protocols, such as SOPs, PMs, PDMs, and WOs.
  • Spearheading project development and implementation, focusing on utilities enhancements and process improvements.
  • Upholding health, safety, and food safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A 2nd Class Power Engineering certification.
  • Proficiency in managing steam, ammonia, and refrigeration systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-motivated and disciplined approach, with minimal supervision required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and familiarity with relevant software applications.
  • Prior experience in a food production or manufacturing setting is advantageous, but not mandatory.
