About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Our Place Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining room and kitchen areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
  • Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
  • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
  • Scour pots and pans.
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used.
  • Package take-out food.
  • Portion and wrap foods.
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items.
  • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables.
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically demanding role requiring standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
