Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal business, ensuring accurate and timely decisions that meet our financial goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to achieve profitable premium and rate goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying this knowledge to improve our underwriting processes and products.
  • Work closely with the Chief Underwriting Officer to develop and implement underwriting strategies that drive business growth.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in commercial underwriting, with a strong understanding of the Canadian insurance market.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products and underwriting principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge to complex underwriting scenarios.
