About the Opportunity

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals to achieve their goals and live independently. Your passion for person-centered supports and ability to engage individuals in their communities will make a significant difference in their lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to individuals in achieving their life goals
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
  • Accompany individuals on community outings, such as volunteering, employment, and leisure activities
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities and goal progression

Available Positions

We have two permanent full-time positions available, each working 30 hours per week. The shifts for these positions are Monday to Friday, with potential for evenings and weekends.

About You

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about supporting others and have a strong understanding of person-centered and active support approaches. To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Ability to maneuver a wheelchair
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • A clear criminal record (paid by CLS)
  • A clean driver's abstract
  • Comfort navigating the transit system
  • Comfort supporting individuals in a pool and gym setting
  • Comfort with personal care

Assets

  • Class 5 driver's license
  • Prior paid or volunteer experience
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training
  • Knowledge of Mandt System
  • Knowledge of Person-Centered Active Supports
  • Comfort standing/walking for long periods of time
