Our Automation & Digitalization division is in search of a Senior Control Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of control systems tailored for industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee control systems projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project objectives, timelines, and financial plans.
    • Create and develop control systems, encompassing both hardware and software elements, to fulfill project specifications.
    • Formulate and implement control algorithms and logic.
    • Integrate control systems with existing or new machinery, equipment, or processes.
    • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of control systems to verify functionality and compliance with specifications, addressing any issues through systematic debugging techniques.
    • Generate technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, user manuals, and maintenance guidelines.
  2. Formulate and sustain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, including managing the procurement of essential equipment and materials.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and success criteria, identifying opportunities for enhanced automation and electrification within the project.
  4. Manage project risks and challenges, developing contingency plans and mitigation strategies, while communicating progress and obstacles to stakeholders and senior management.
  5. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and timely achievement of project milestones.
  6. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  7. Provide regular updates on project status to stakeholders and senior management, including presenting project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  8. Mentor and guide junior engineers and technologists.
  9. Assist in the preparation of proposals.
  10. Ensure compliance with the ANDRITZ Quality System.
  11. Exemplify and promote the core values and behaviors of ANDRITZ.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering with a focus on automation and electrification technologies.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial engineering, preferably within the Pulp & Paper sector.
  3. Experience in consulting engineering is advantageous.
  4. Registration as an EIT or P.Eng., or AScT in British Columbia is preferred.
  5. Strong knowledge of automation and electrification technologies, including familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends.
  6. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and mitigating project risks and challenges.
  8. Project management experience is a plus.
  9. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  10. Willingness to travel to domestic and international sites as required.
