Governance and Compliance Specialist is a critical role at Securian Canada, Inc that requires a deep understanding of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, with experience in implementing governance frameworks and managing data quality initiatives.

This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that governance principles are embedded across the organization, enabling high-quality, trusted data while ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Main Tasks:
  • Support the development and implementation of the Data Management Framework;
  • Identify and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs) across business domains;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to monitor and resolve data quality issues;
  • Develop and implement data cataloging and metadata management processes;
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field;
  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles;
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance;
  • Experience with data governance tools and modern data architectures;
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management competencies;
