Job Description

The Director, Corporate Functions Compliance will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive compliance management framework to ensure Scotiabank's Corporate Functions operate in alignment with governing regulations and internal policies.

This role requires a strong understanding of banking regulations, products, and services, as well as experience in leading high-performing teams across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities include maintaining oversight of regulatory compliance, meeting with senior executives, and monitoring relevant activities to assess adherence to the Compliance Management Framework.

  • Develop and implement a compliance program that ensures Corporate Functions operate in accordance with governing regulations and internal policies.
  • Lead a high-performing team of compliance professionals to maintain oversight of regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with Global Compliance, Business Line Compliance, and Local Compliance to ensure a coordinated and effective Compliance Program.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education with relevant experience in the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations, products & services, technology, and operations.
  • Experience in leading high-performing teams across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ability to positively influence senior management to successfully implement and maintain program.
