We are seeking a skilled Wall and Floor Tile Setter to join our team at Fenix Construction and Labour Services Inc. in an exciting career opportunity.

About the Job

This permanent position involves working on various construction projects, setting tiles in place, and ensuring a high-quality finish. As a key member of our team, you will work independently and collaboratively to achieve project goals.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, measuring and marking them accurately
  • Mix and apply adhesives using hand trowels, ensuring proper coverage and spread
  • Set tiles in place, applying pressure to secure them to the base
  • Align and straighten tiles to achieve a professional finish
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power tools
  • Pack grout into joints and remove excess grout for a clean finish
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles as needed
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles for decorative designs
  • Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
  • Install tile strips and estimate ingredient and supply requirements
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Physically demanding role requiring prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work with precision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in tile setting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Judgement and reliability in a fast-paced environment
Benefits
