Job Title: Principal R&D Engineer

At HERO Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled Principal R&D Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for leading the development of novel minimally invasive devices from concept generation to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cutting-edge technologies to provide optimal design solutions for products.
  • Design and develop prototypes in advance of selecting the most promising solution to take into design freeze.
  • Conduct testing for design verification and validation, and develop plans to support research and development sustaining activities.
  • Support the development of intellectual property within the company.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of related experience in engineering, with a focus on product development in medical devices.
  • Excellent SolidWorks skills and aptitude for mechanical engineering design.
  • Strong hypothesis-driven experimental design and statistical analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of design requirements as per 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485.
  • Experience with drafting and maintaining DHF and DMR documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and within a diverse team of engineers, professional staff, and production staff.
  • Superior communication skills and demonstrated leadership skills.
Asset Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Understanding of design for manufacture of medical devices.
  • Experience with injection molding and hydrophilic coatings.
