Radiation Therapist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at the Ontario Veterinary College Health Sciences Centre. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of radiation therapy in the field of veterinary medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver radiation therapy treatments to patients under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist
  • Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, ensuring quality assurance and safety standards are met
  • Collaborate with the Radiation Safety Officer to ensure compliance with Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission regulations
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, students, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new personnel, as needed
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an accredited M.R.T. (T) program
  • Registration with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario, and Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
  • Experience in radiation therapy, preferably with CLINAC, OBI system, ECLIPSE planning system, and Aria
  • Excellent record keeping and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
