We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at the Ontario Veterinary College Health Sciences Centre. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the treatment of cancer and other diseases in animals.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver radiation therapy treatments to animals under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators and treatment planning systems
- Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists to develop treatment plans and protocols
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, students, and other healthcare professionals
- Perform quality assurance checks on treatment machines and associated equipment
- Assist with procedures unique to companion animals and large animals
- Successful completion of an accredited M.R.T. (T) program
- Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) and the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (C.M.R.T.O.)
- Experience in radiation therapy, preferably with CLINAC, OBI system, ECLIPSE planning system, and Aria
- Excellent record keeping and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
The Radiation Therapist will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, interacting with clients, students, and other healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
CompensationThe hourly rate for this position is $30.08 per hour.
