Event Security Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Event Security Specialist to join our team in Kelowna, BC/Penticton, BC/Vernon, BC. As an Event Security Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of attendees, staff, and property at various events.
A Day in the Life
A typical shift includes monitoring entrances and exits, checking tickets or credentials, and patrolling the premises to deter any potential disruptions or unauthorized activities. You will maintain a safe environment for patrons and staff by responding to emergencies, such as medical incidents or disturbances, implementing appropriate protocols and coordinating with law enforcement or medical personnel as needed.
Requirements
- Valid security workers license or ability to obtain.
- Must be able to stand/walk for an 8+ hr. period.
- Customer service experience is required.
- Must be available evenings and weekends (and some holidays).
If you don't have a Security Worker's License, you can still work as a security guard at events. One option is a 90-day license program, allowing temporary work with a criminal background check and with the supervision of a licensed Security Guard with a basic background check. Alternatively, in BC, for a valid BC security license you will need to complete a 40-hour Basic Security Training (BST) course.
