Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Active Transportation Development Specialist to join our team at Anishinabek Employment & Training Services. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing active transportation initiatives that promote community engagement and sustainable development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement active transportation programs to support the Transportation Master Plan and Active Transportation Plan.
  • Promote active transportation through public outreach, education, and events, and deliver presentations to various audiences.
  • Support initiatives related to active transportation targets outlined in the Net-Zero Strategy.
  • Collaborate with local school boards to support students cycling and walking to school.
  • Develop and cultivate community partnerships, including networking with other municipalities and government agencies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in planning or a related discipline;
  • Minimum four years' experience developing and implementing transportation initiatives;
  • Excellent project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, private and public officials, and the public.
