Job Description

The Transportation Specialist position at Herrman Lumber Company will be responsible for loading trucks and making local deliveries. The ideal candidate will have regular interaction with customers and vendors, ensuring a seamless delivery experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily truck inspections to ensure vehicle safety and efficiency.
  • Pull orders and load trucks for delivery, verifying accuracy and securing loads properly.
  • Deliver loads to building sites, adhering to timely schedules and customer expectations.
  • Assist customers in the yard and at delivery sites, providing excellent service and support.
  • Maintain accountability for all safety requirements of trucks and equipment used in the yard.
Physical Requirements:

The Transportation Specialist role requires frequent standing and may involve walking varied distances and climbing stairs. Additionally, occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting are required. The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis is necessary.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to altered climate conditions when in the warehouse, yard, or on delivery sites is expected. A Pre-Employment Drug Screen, including marijuana, is required for this position.
