About the Role:


We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Coordinator to join our team. This role will provide administrative support for our clinical programs, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care and efficient management of clinic operations.



Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate new referrals, register patients, and discharge patients in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Book and confirm appointments, as well as maintain/updating provider clinic schedules for in-person and virtual care hybrid models
  • Liaise with external agencies, ensuring completion of referrals and other supporting documents requested by the team
  • Adhere to clinic-specific standard operating procedures (S.O.P.'s) for established office admin. processes
  • Schedule and coordinate clinic appointments in a timely manner
  • Work closely with clinic physician specialists, RN's, and team members to ensure clinic schedules are up-to-date and accurate
  • Organize charts for clinic days, ensuring optimal workflow and documents are filed in a timely manner
  • Maintain the chart room, keeping patient demographic information (hardcopy and electronic) in order and up-to-date
  • Use computerized information systems efficiently and accurately
  • Provide reception, telephone answering services in a professional manner and general clerical and administrative support
  • Accurately perform timekeeping payroll duties as assigned
  • Maintain and compile databases as required
  • Order and maintain office and clinical supplies and equipment as required
  • Process payments for non-OHIP funded care as required


Qualifications:



  • Degree or diploma in Medical Office Administration or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a medical administrative role
  • Experience with EMR systems, including Meditech and Accuro
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of OHIP card validation and ability to prepare daily and monthly reports


Salary: $25.65 - $27.92 per hour, based on 70 bi-weekly hours
