Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Transformer Design Specialist to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY CANADA INC. in Stoney Creek, ON.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for transformer repair and service, including analysis, development, and testing.
  • Perform engineering design studies on existing transformers and provide technical support for field service.
  • Plan and coordinate engineering analyses and tests, and prepare related reports and summaries.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to ensure high-quality designs and timely project delivery.
  • Provide support to the transformer repair factory and participate in on-site transformer inspections.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • P. Eng. Designation is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in transformer design, with a focus on electrical design calculations and Hitachi Energy electrical design tools and standards.
  • Special transformers (furnace, rectifier, shell type, etc.) electrical design experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with computer software, including MS Office.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to formulate solutions to technical problems.
