Senior Electrical Engineer Opportunity

GEI Consultants is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Hamilton, ON. As a key member of our civil design practice, you will be responsible for supporting the pursuit of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects, delivering electrical engineering assignments, and growing an electrical and instrumentation design practice in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with senior leads to pursue proposals and deliver electrical engineering assignments, including condition assessments, preliminary design, detailed design, utility coordination, ESA permitting, and short-circuit coordination studies.
  2. Grow an electrical and instrumentation design practice in Ontario by recruiting, training, and mentoring electrical/I&C designers and support staff.
  3. Coordinate business development activities within the civil design practice and work with the marketing team to develop the GEI brand.
  4. Develop a networking relationship with practitioners across the company and serve as a technical leader and mentor.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum Bachelor's Degree, with preference to an M.S. degree and Ontario Professional Engineers licensing.
  2. 15 years of electrical engineering experience with a minimum of 10 years specializing in the Ontario municipal water and wastewater industry.
  3. Experience in instrumentation and control design and SCADA integration is considered a strong asset.
  4. Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and NFPA guidelines as it relates to water and wastewater facilities.
  5. Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
  6. Willingness and ability to travel to GEI branch offices and project/client sites as required.
