Job Title: Senior Transformer Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Transformer Design Engineer to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY CANADA INC. in Stoney Creek, ON. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for transformers, including industrial transformers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for transformers, including industrial transformers.
  • Perform engineering design studies on existing transformers and provide technical support for transformer field service.
  • Plan and coordinate engineering analyses and tests, and prepare related reports and summaries, for review.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Provide support to the transformer repair factory and participate in on-site transformer inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • P. Eng. Designation is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in transformer design.
  • Special transformers (furnace, rectifier, shell) electrical design experience would be a plus.
  • Hitachi Energy electrical design tools and standards experience or equivalent.
  • Transformer electrical design calculations.
  • Proficient with computer and software-MS Office.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to formulate solutions to technical problems.
