We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Social Worker to join our Child and Adolescent Services team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work with children and adolescents up to the 19th birthday, providing assessment and treatment for mental health or concurrent disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual, family-based, or group therapy to children and adolescents with mental health or concurrent disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Supervise case managers and behavioral interventionists as needed.
- Develop and deliver evidence-based educational presentations to clients, families, other agencies, and staff members on topics related to mental health and concurrent disorders.
- Participate in grand rounds presentations and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Social Work with a specialization in clinical or mental health, and a minimum of two years of clinical experience in an inpatient or outpatient mental health setting. You should have a strong understanding of acute and persistent mental illness and concurrent disorders, as well as competence in assessment, intervention, and research.
- Master's degree in Social Work with a specialization in clinical or mental health.
- Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work.
- Minimum two years of clinical experience in an inpatient or outpatient mental health setting.
- Strong understanding of acute and persistent mental illness and concurrent disorders.
- Competence in assessment, intervention, and research.
This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours biweekly. You will be required to work evening and daytime hours, and travel may be necessary. We offer a competitive salary range of $37.31-$49.05 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and a defined benefit pension plan.
