Health Care Social Worker

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Health Care Social Worker to provide psychosocial interventions to clients and their families. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively to enable individuals to achieve their optimal level of functioning and health.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting psychosocial assessments and developing personalized intervention plans
- Providing adjustment therapy, supportive therapy, crisis counselling, and resource counselling
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Advocating for clients and their families to promote their needs and rights
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual with a Master of Social Work degree and current registration with the Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers. If you have a strong background in clinical social work and a passion for patient advocacy, we encourage you to apply.
About YouWe are seeking a candidate with:
- Strong counselling and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of issues related to family violence, sexual abuse, addictions, grief and loss, end of life, disability, crisis intervention, caregiving, and continuum of care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while effectively planning, organizing, and supervising

Hours and CompensationThis is a long-assignment full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $37.31 - $49.05. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
