Job Title: Managing Director, People & Culture

McInnes Cooper, a leading law firm in Atlantic Canada, is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its people and culture function. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Managing Director, People & Culture, will be responsible for shaping and executing the firm's people strategy, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive people strategy aligned with the firm's business objectives
  • Lead the development and execution of related functions, including learning and development, talent acquisition and retention, performance management, and policy development
  • Collaborate with senior management and business operation leaders to drive change and improve human resources functions and services
  • Provide ongoing support to the Managing Partner and other senior leaders on people-related matters
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team, promoting a culture of engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in people and culture, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Undergraduate degree, with a professional certification in Human Resources
  • Experience in project management, technology implementation, and leading organizational change
  • Familiarity with a professional services environment, a continuous learning mindset, and proficiency in data analytics and HRIS
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams
