Technical Lead, Software Engineering

At AutoTrader, we're looking for a highly skilled Technical Lead to join our Software Engineering team. As a Technical Lead, you'll play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our projects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical design and implementation of software solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineers to identify and prioritize technical debt, ensuring the stability and performance of our systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards, best practices, and coding guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across the team.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, helping them to grow and develop their skills.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, such as stand-ups, retrospectives, and grooming sessions, to ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Act as a bridge between developers and quality personnel, facilitating alignment of work with a quality-first approach.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to respond to alerts and prioritize system improvements identified through monitoring.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in cloud-based distributed applications and enterprise-scale high-velocity queues.
  • Proven experience in technical leadership roles, with a track record of delivering high-quality software solutions and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Strong knowledge of.NET Web API,.NET Core, and Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, as well as experience with front-end tools such as Angular, HTML, and React.js.
  • Ability to work with source code management and delivery platforms such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, and SonarQube in a distributed team environment.
  • University degree in Computer Science or related subject.
