Painting and Context I Instructor

Job Description:
University of Ottawa is seeking a qualified instructor to teach Painting and Context I, a course that focuses on the observation and process of painting. The ideal candidate will have a Master of Fine Arts or equivalent, a recognized practice and exhibition record in painting and contemporary art, and teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Painting and Context I, a course that explores the translation of the human figure as object and subject, and the transposition of observed forms into painting.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that fosters the awareness of perceptual issues and expressive possibilities in painting.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development of the visual arts program at the University of Ottawa.
Requirements:
- Master of Fine Arts or equivalent.
- Recognized practice and exhibition record in painting and contemporary art.
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Additional Information:
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
