Primary Care Opportunities with Southern Health-Santé Sud
Southern Health-Santé Sud is seeking a skilled and innovative Nurse Practitioner to join our team.
This dynamic role offers the ideal candidate a chance to practice advanced nursing and medical theory in a primary care setting. Reporting to the Clinic Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing primary and consultative care to individuals and client groups in accordance with evidence-based knowledge and advanced nursing practice.
The incumbent will implement strategies to promote health and prevent illness, exercising independent judgment and initiative in determining work priorities and methods.
Key Qualifications:
• Active practicing membership on the RN Extended Practice (EP) Register of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and the scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
• Advanced nursing care knowledge related to health assessment, diagnostic, pharmacotherapeutics and invasive and minor surgical procedures
• Minimum of five (5) years recent clinical nursing experience in a primary care setting, with experience working across sectors and linking between programs/organizations considered an asset
• Demonstrated effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing situations
• Willingness to work flexible hours and ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
• Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
Conditions of Employment:
• Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate
• All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy
• Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
