Claims Administrative Coordinator

Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC) is a leading provider of insurance, risk, and claims management solutions for the healthcare industry. As a Claims Administrative Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting the claims process and ensuring timely and accurate resolution of claims.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present analytical reports to stakeholders, including subscribers and board members
  • Issue legal expense payments for claims files and manage claims inquiries from subscribers
  • Update and maintain the CRM system with claims contacts and provide assistance to subscribers regarding claims reporting
  • Participate in interdepartmental meetings related to data coding and updates
  • Assist in the management of shared mailboxes in Outlook and complete mail assignments, claims setup, and adjusting reserves
  • Claims department scheduling for meetings, semi-annual reviews, and audit reports
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High regard for quality, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Well-organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Willing to demonstrate initiative and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office procedures
  • Strong ability to multitask and excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in sensitive and confidential situations
  • Excellent time management skills and well-developed analytical skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills and ability to work and form good working relationships
Education, Training, and Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of working experience in an administrative role
Working Conditions:
  • Hybrid work model
  • Working at a computer for much of the day
