About the Role:

The successful candidate will be a renowned academic with a proven track record of excellence in research, clinical training, and education. As Director, they will be responsible for developing a strong inter-professional program of academic scholarship, fostering collaboration among affiliated hospitals, and promoting the recruitment, retention, and promotion of productive faculty members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry, aligning with the Department's goals and objectives.
  2. Lead a team of faculty members, residents, and fellows in research, education, and clinical practice.
  3. Secure external grant funding and promote peer-reviewed publications, scientific presentations, and community engagement.
  4. Foster collaboration with hospitals and healthcare organizations to advance mental health care for the elderly.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
  • Relevant academic and clinical experience, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research, education, and leadership.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

What We Offer:

The University of Toronto offers a competitive compensation package, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a 1/2 day per week commitment for a 3-year term, renewable once for up to 5 years. We welcome applications from qualified candidates who are eligible for certification with their respective College and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario or health profession equivalent.
