Nurse Practitioner

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Thoracic Care. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients and clients, including diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions. You will also initiate treatment, prescribe medications, and provide professional guidance to other health professionals.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and clients, including diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions.
- Initiate treatment, including healthcare management, therapeutic interventions, and prescribing medications in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards.
- Provide professional guidance to other health professionals and participate autonomously as a member of the interdisciplinary health team.
- Collaborate with clients and other health professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for clients, families, and communities.
- Develop and implement population and evidence-based strategies to improve health and participate in policy-making and quality improvement activities that influence health services and practices.
- Participate in peer, program, and self-review to evaluate the outcome of services at the client, community, and population level.
- Be responsible for own professional development and maintaining competence in the position, and maintaining privileges as active medical staff as required.
As per the current Public Health Orders, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received a single dose of the most-recent, updated COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
