About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled Project Manager to join our Buildings division in the Greater Vancouver area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Preconstruction to prepare and monitor project budgets, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Manage the subcontracting process, including scope review meetings, subcontract distribution, and execution.
  • Direct the process of determining project budgets and deliverables to clients.
  • Assist with hiring key personnel and subcontractors for projects.
  • Manage project administration, daily operations, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Manage project schedules, milestone dates, and close-out checklists.
  • Maintain relationships and communication tools with suppliers and project personnel.
  • Review performance standards and metrics for project teams.
  • Monitor the change management process, including change events, notices, pricing, and tracking.
  • Ensure project sites and company assets are secure and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide input into organizational and responsibility matrices for projects.
  • Review contract documents to understand deliverables and ensure project work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage the review and communication of project objectives, milestones, budget, and client satisfaction measurements to project teams.
  • Assist in preparing regular status reports for company executives and project-steering committees.
  • Take ownership of project-specific safety plans and ensure compliance with client requirements, Occupational Health and Safety regulations, and government laws.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and coordinating buildings construction projects.
  • Ability to anticipate client requirements, work proactively on risk and claim management, and work autonomously.
  • Balanced leadership and technical skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and project management software, such as InEight.

Working Conditions

The majority of work is completed on job sites in an office trailer or existing on-site structure. Employees must wear personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and weather conditions. The incumbent may need to relocate to other site locations in the local region as required.

Compensation

  • $87,300 - $178,700 per annum.
  • Salary will commensurate with education and experience.

  • 3 to 5 weeks of vacation per year, with credit for prior industry experience.
