Job Title: Senior Cook

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Senior Cook to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a Senior Cook, you will be responsible for preparing meals and snacks for our residents, ensuring that they receive high-quality food that meets their dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes, and other menu documents.
  • Monitor the quality of food supplies received and advise the team leader of any problems.
  • Assume responsibility for departmental operations in the absence of the team leader.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 minimum education required.
  • Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify.
  • One year experience in volume food preparation, catering, and special events preparation.
  • A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and Smart Serve certificate.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in large quantity food preparation and cooking in Health, Long Term Care, or Retirement Residence.
  • Red Seal Designation preferred.
