Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning and preparing menus, training staff, and ensuring the highest quality of food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation
    • Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of our customers and align with our company values.
    • Plan and prepare meals and individual dishes, ensuring high-quality ingredients and presentation.
  • Staff Training and Development
    • Train and mentor staff on food preparation, cooking, and handling techniques.
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure staff are equipped to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health and safety standards.
    • Implement quality control measures to ensure consistency and excellence in food preparation and presentation.
  • Support for Diversity and Inclusion
    • Develop and implement programs to support diversity and inclusion in the workplace, including awareness training and mentorship opportunities.
    • Recruit and retain staff from diverse backgrounds, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Participate in programs that support the settlement and integration of newcomers and refugees, including language training and job placement services.
    • Provide support and guidance to help newcomers and refugees navigate the workplace and access community resources.
  • Support for Veterans
    • Develop and implement programs to support the transition of veterans into the civilian workforce, including mentorship and job placement services.
    • Provide support and guidance to help veterans navigate the workplace and access community resources.
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Develop and implement programs to support the recruitment and retention of Indigenous staff, including mentorship and cultural competency training.
    • Provide support and guidance to help Indigenous staff navigate the workplace and access community resources.
  • Support for Mature Workers
    • Develop and implement programs to support the recruitment and retention of mature workers, including mentorship and phased retirement options.
    • Provide support and guidance to help mature workers navigate the workplace and access community resources.
  • Support for Visible Minorities
    • Develop and implement programs to support the recruitment and retention of visible minority staff, including mentorship and diversity training.
    • Provide support and guidance to help visible minority staff navigate the workplace and access community resources.
Requirements
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff.
  • Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
