About the Role

The North West Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Store Operations to lead the execution of all company programs and achieve operational excellence across a group of store locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Create and execute plans to ensure stores reach full performance potential, analyzing operating results and KPI performance within the division.
  • Market Analysis: Achieve full understanding of the competitive landscape and community relations, adapting to unique market factors and customer feedback.
  • Employee Development: Ensure the execution of employee training and development programs, working with the Operations Support Team and People Team.
  • Community Engagement: Work collaboratively with communities to optimize local hiring and develop long-term business relationships with community stakeholders, business partners, and customers.
  • Financial Management: Ensure controllable costs are well managed to deliver on budget and forecast hiring needs for management staff in the division.
  • Reporting: Deliver community reports annually, providing insights into store performance and community engagement.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of Senior Manager experience in a grocery retail environment, with multi-location experience.
  • Post-secondary education (degree, diploma, or certification) or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a focus on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and assignments while adhering to strict deadlines.
