Job Description:

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice independently and as part of a collaborative team, including external partners. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management
  • Participating in the planning, coordination, and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals, and other partners
  • Supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate
  • Informing ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development with your clinical expertise
Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification

Recent adult inpatient acute care experience within Alberta

Independence and proficiency with clinical and instrumental (VFSS) swallowing assessments, with demonstrated ability to manage challenging caseload demands within a fast-paced environment

Comfort discussing risks and benefits of oral vs non-oral feeding with the care team

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with complex medical patient populations (end of life, chronic disease management, post-ICU, dementia)

Instrumental assessment (VFSS) competence
