Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the system implementation of SAP.
  • Process full-cycle Canadian payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and territorial regulations related to Canadian payroll, taxation, and labour standards.
  • Manage employee data accurately within the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits, adhering to Canadian privacy laws.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or discrepancies promptly, ensuring accurate calculation of statutory deductions such as CPP, EI, and income tax.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to relevant stakeholders, including management and government agencies, as required by Canadian regulations.
  • Administer Canadian employee benefits, including pension plans, RRSPs, and other retirement savings vehicles, ensuring accurate deductions and contributions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in Canadian payroll laws and regulations at the federal and provincial levels and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with year-end Canadian payroll processes, including T4 preparation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless Canadian payroll operations and provide support for audits and regulatory inquiries.
  • Provide excellent customer service to Canadian employees regarding payroll inquiries and concerns, including assisting with understanding pay statements and tax forms.
Requirements:
  • PCP or PLP designation is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience processing payroll for Canadian employees is required.
  • Experience processing payroll through SAP is required.
  • Experience with system implementation is required.
  • Must be able to commute to the office in Burlington and eventually Brampton.
