As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful Talent Acquisition strategy across Canada and the US. This role will also lead Onboarding, compliance, HRIS maintenance, HR policies and procedures, external partnership management, and other projects as required.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Interviewing and evaluating candidates for various positions
- Coordinating hiring paperwork, including budgeting and compliance
- Conducting background and criminal record checks
- Processing internal paperwork for terminations
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Maintaining employee benefits and records
- Addressing external auditor inquiries regarding hiring and termination
- Assisting with employee insurance external audit forms and queries
This role has access to the support of an HR Consultant as required in the US for matters of extreme complexity.
Requirements and QualificationsTo succeed as the Human Resources Manager, you will bring 7–9 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, primarily from the Retail and/or Property Management industry. You will be strong in Talent Acquisition and Recruitment and focused on being part of an established, stable, and growing business. Understanding the urgency of working in a fast-paced investment industry is essential.
You will have completed post-secondary education, obtaining a BA, HRM and/or CHRP/CHRL, along with experience supporting a business from an HR perspective across both Canada and the US. Key qualities include:
