High-End Hardware Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Designer to join our team at Cisco Montreal.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and optimize hardware architectures, ensuring feasibility and meeting requirements and design specifications.
- Collaborate with project teams to define project plans, perform risk assessments, and participate in status meetings to report progress, risks, issues, or blockers.
- Stay up-to-date with component, design, and manufacturing process limitations to guide teams in making informed technological decisions.
- Promote high-speed interfaces, signal/power integrity, and timing closure concepts to enhance system performance.
- Lead and supervise the development of complex hardware systems, ensuring quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Act as a gatekeeper for physical work, facilitating hardware design reviews and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Define test plans, conduct board bring-up and system integration, and validate systems against requirements and specifications.
- Maintain product certification requirements, stay updated on regulatory standards, and develop reflexes to design products ready for certification.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Confirmed experience with hardware system development (Electrical, Mechanical, Thermal, Certifications, Manufacturing).
- Proficiency in components selection, schematics entries & layout guidelines.
- Master the use of test equipment's for system bring up and validation with excellent solving/debugging capabilities.
- Understanding the limitations of electrical, mechanical & assembly fabrication processes.
- Hands-on experience with board re-work and repair during prototyping phase.
- Knowledge with high-speed interfaces, signal/power integrity & timing closure concepts.
- Basic understanding of design concepts to meet certification's requirements (EMC, Safety, Telco).
- Experience in supervising & advising hardware design develop by internal & external teams.
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications. Please note that this information is provided for general guidance only and may vary based on individual circumstances.
