Hardware Architect

As a Hardware Architect at Cisco, you will be responsible for developing high-end solutions for next-generation telecom network infrastructures. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering and experience with hardware system development. You will work closely with a dynamic team of experts to design and develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop feasibility studies, systems definition, requirements, and design specifications for hardware systems.
- Collaborate on project plans, perform risk assessments, and participate in status meetings to report progress, risks, issues, or blockers.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest component, design, and manufacturing process limitations and guide teams to make informed technological decisions.
- Define layout guidelines to meet SI/PI and timing requirements.
- Lead, supervise, and optimize a multidisciplinary hardware development process.
- Act as a gatekeeper to ensure the quality level of all physical work and coordinate hardware design reviews with all teams of interest.
- Define test plans, perform board bring-up, system integration, and system validation against requirements, specifications, and standards.
- Master product certification requirements, keep up-to-date with the latest regulatory standards, and define certification test plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Confirmed experience with hardware system development (Electrical, Mechanical, Thermal, Certifications, Manufacturing).
- Proficiency and confirmed experience with components selection, schematics entries, and layout guidelines.
- Master the use of test equipment for system bring-up and validation with excellent solving/debugging capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding the limitations of electrical, mechanical, and assembly fabrication processes.
- Hands-on experience with board re-work and repair during prototyping phase.
- Knowledge with high-speed interfaces, signal/power integrity, and timing closure concepts.
- Basic understanding of design concepts to meet certification requirements (EMC, Safety, Telco).
- Experience in supervising and advising hardware design development by internal and external teams.
