Job Description

Job Title: Full Time Residential Support Worker

Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Full Time Residential Support Worker to join our team. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support and care to residents, promoting their personal development and well-being.
  • Develop and implement individual support plans, working collaboratively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Provide orientation and support to new staff members, students, and volunteers.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of program goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Residential Manager.

Requirements:

  • Completed Developmental Services Worker Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid and current Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR Level C Certificate.
  • Ability to achieve Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certificate.
  • Minimum 6-12 months' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
  • Experience with implementing individual support plans and medication administration.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to dirt, bodily fluids, and bodily waste.
  • Noise and verbal abuse.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and apply effective body mechanics.
