Post Secondary Summer Employment Program – Early Childhood Education Assistant

**Job Summary**
The Seabird Island Band is seeking a qualified individual to fill a summer employment position in early childhood education. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with children aged 6-12, providing a safe and healthy environment that fosters their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in planning and implementing culturally appropriate activities and experiences for children
- Help maintain a safe and healthy environment, including record keeping and parental involvement
- Participate in daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, and preparation
- Follow center procedures for maintaining health records and administering medication
- Report accidents, injuries, and illnesses to the supervisor
**Requirements**
- Must be at least 15 years old and have a valid Social Insurance number
- Must have a bank account and a BC Services Card
- First Aid, Babysitting, and Food Safe certificates are an asset
- Responsible adult training or 20 hours of childcare-related training is an asset
- Experience working with children is required
