Position Summary

The Seabird Island Band is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team for a summer placement program. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of children and contribute to their educational and personal growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of culturally appropriate activities and experiences for children
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment, including record keeping and administrative tasks
  • Participate in daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, and preparation
  • Follow the center's procedures for maintaining health records and administering medication
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the supervisor

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 15 years old and have a valid Social Insurance number
  • Must have a bank account and a BC Services Card
  • First Aid, Babysitting, and Food Safe certifications are an asset
  • Experience working with children and ability to work as a member of a team
  • Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Ability to agree to and adhere to Seabird Island Band's policies and procedures
