We are seeking a highly skilled Shopfloor Quality Engineer to join our team based in St. Thomas, ON.

As a Shopfloor Quality Engineer at Volkswagen Group, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our quality management system requirements are met. You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to monitor and achieve quality targets, analyze quality data, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that company quality management system requirements are met.
  • Ensure the fulfillment of customer-specific requirements and automotive quality standards regarding product quality.
  • Monitor and publish quality targets and performance metrics, and inform all responsible persons within the production unit.
  • Implement process quality analyses and reporting.
  • Lead improvement of quality activities and processes by analyzing process quality data.
  • Support risk assessment of nonconforming products and coordinate blocking and releasing actions.
  • Lead implementation of quality statistical process control (SPC) tools within production unit.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for problem-solving in operations for internal and external quality problems.
  • Coordinate the production unit in defining and implementing corrective & preventive actions.
  • Coordinate quality workshops for operations quality tasks.
  • Plan and monitor periodic inspections at product and process level.
  • Support all quality-relevant activities for operations, such as control plans, requalification for production, production process approvals, PPAP/VDA-PPF documents for customers.
  • Support Quality-Ramp up in Gigafactories.
  • Support necessary preparations within the production unit for customer and internal/external quality audits and the definition and implementation of actions.
  • Support continuous improvement activities for quality and follow up on the action plans created to achieve the targets.
  • Participate in PFMEA studies and reviews and support implementation of changes.
