We are seeking a Quality Laboratory & Monitoring Engineer to join our team at Volkswagen Group Canada Inc. in St. Thomas, ON. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for planning activities in the field of quality assurance for the laboratories and at-line (shopfloor) measuring stations and measurement technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement an effective supplier management process for PowerCo Canada for our North American material suppliers.
  • Develop, elaborate, and revise planning concepts in the definition of the laboratory and at-line layout and the technical specifications for the devices and measuring equipment.
  • Implement concepts and implement defined measures.
  • Further develop techniques and procedures, including analysis and evaluation of alternative solutions using economic standards.
  • Ensure the verification/calibration of inspection and measurement equipment with a system with national/international traceability and certification.
  • Prepare measurement device usage and verification instructions.
  • Fulfill and document the requirements of the Quality Management System within its own field of work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on Industrial Engineering (preferred), or Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within the automotive, battery (preferred), chemical or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Proficiency with measurement equipment (CT scan, CMM, SEM, FTIR, Digital Microscopes), verification/calibration methods, MSA applications.
  • Basic level knowledge in automotive quality management system IATF, FMEA and SPC.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% requirement for domestic and international travel (Spain, Germany, China).
