Job Summary
Island Sexual Health is seeking a Family Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary care team. As a Family Practitioner at Island Sexual Health, you will provide primary care services to our patients, including gender diverse individuals, sex trade workers, and those living with HIV. You will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with a team of nurses, a clinical social worker, and a mental health support worker.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary care services to patients, including physical exams, diagnoses, and treatment plans
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients
- Communicate and collaborate with patients and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care, and prognosis
- Transfer knowledge, teach, coach, and mentor others
- Manage time and resources effectively, prioritize and organize work appropriately
Requirements
- Current registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.
- Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Medical indemnity coverage with Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Competent to practice the full scope of family medicine/primary care as defined by the College of Family Physicians of Canada, excluding the provision of maternity care
- A low barrier, harm reduction trauma-informed approach with a social justice lens
