Dynamic Family Medicine Opportunities

Island Health, a dynamic non-profit community health centre, is seeking experienced family practitioners to join its multidisciplinary care team. This opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate and provides the chance to work in a trauma-informed low-barrier primary care setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with a robust team of nurses and support staff, and working under the supervision of the medical director and executive director.
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess current registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C., certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), and medical indemnity coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
Applicants should have experience in practicing full-scope family medicine, a strong appreciation for harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches, and a commitment to creating safe environments for vulnerable clients.
This role requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate complex health information to patients and families, transfer knowledge, teach, coach, and mentor others.
As part of our team, you will have access to ongoing education opportunities, including training in gender-affirming care and cultural competency. We also offer a comprehensive compensation package, including an estimated salary range of $140-$180 per hour, depending on experience.
