Job Summary

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Culture & Recreation Team as a Fort Heritage Precinct Programs Coordinator. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, developing and implementing programs and events that showcase the rich history and culture of the Fort Heritage Precinct.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and evaluate educational and public programs within service levels approved by City Council.
  • Staff Supervision and Training: Supervise, train, mentor, and schedule programming staff and volunteers to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and events.
  • Event Coordination: Oversee the delivery of event programming at the Fort Heritage Precinct, utilizing the interpretive themes of the site.
  • Revenue and Expense Management: Responsible for revenue and expenses related to programs and events.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with Fort Heritage Precinct staff to ensure seamless delivery of programs and events.
Qualifications and Requirements

The successful candidate will have a 2-year Diploma in education, history, heritage interpretation, museum studies, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a heritage-related position and progressive experience in supervision is required. Experience in program development, delivery, and advertising is essential. The incumbent will have a strong understanding of the Alberta Museums Association standard practices, excellent report writing and oral presentation capabilities, and exceptional communication and organizational skills to promote successful customer relations.
