Position Summary

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of heritage programs and events at the Fort Heritage Precinct.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational and public programs that align with the site's interpretive themes.
  • Supervise and train programming staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality delivery of programs and events.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Fort Heritage Precinct, including tour delivery, visitor information, and gift shop sales.
  • Collaborate with Fort Heritage Precinct staff to deliver event programming and ensure a positive visitor experience.
  • Manage revenue and expenses related to programs and events.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a 2-year diploma in education, history, heritage interpretation, museum studies, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a heritage-related position and progressive experience in supervision is required. Experience in program development, delivery, and advertising is essential. The incumbent will have a strong understanding of the Alberta Museums Association standard practices and excellent report writing and oral presentation capabilities.
