Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forestry Project Manager to join our team at CCI Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing multiple major projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and exceeding client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement major projects in accordance with project management standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Determine project scope, define project deliverables, and develop project charters to align with client requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and external partners, to achieve project objectives.
- Prepare and present reports, including graphical, tabular, and written documentation of work results, to clients and company executives.
- Provide updates on project status and progress to the Operations Manager and General Manager.
- Develop and implement consultation and communication plans to ensure effective stakeholder engagement.
- Plan and conduct project evaluations and post-implementation reviews, documenting findings for future reference.
- Manage the overall change control process throughout the project lifecycle, including changes to scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in a natural resource field, such as forestry, environmental science, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in forest management, including silviculture, planning, and forest development.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Association of Alberta Forest Management Professionals (AAFMP) or the Association of BC Forest Professionals (RPF, RFT).
- Positive attitude, high level of organization, and proven ability to supervise and mentor junior staff members.
- Ability to work independently in the outdoors and willingness to travel to various locations throughout Alberta and BC.
- Valid Alberta Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Standard First Aid & CPR, ATV Safety Training, and H2S Alive certifications.
- Knowledge of Esri-based field and office products.
- Experience with timber cruising, silviculture surveying, FireSmart, tree planting program supervision, and/or cutblock layout.
