Job Description/Duties: Job Summary:

Job Overview:

The Inspection Services Eddy Current Testing Trainee assists senior ECT technicians with routine technical assignments, supporting the execution of outage and inspection projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with mock-up maintenance, general tool assortment, and inventory under close supervision.
  • Participate in site execution of outage and inspection projects as a trainee.
  • Perform general NDE-related tasks in the field.
  • Support senior techs on pre-deployment activities.
  • Accurately complete inspection forms, logs, records, and check sheets with guidance from the acquisition operator.
  • Assist with review of equipment prior to site deployment.
  • Set up tests using various test materials and equipment.
  • Prepare equipment or hardware for operation.
  • Execute parts of field tests with guidance from ET Level I or II employees.
  • Adhere to quality and safety standards and demonstrate a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Awareness of and appreciation for the process of Continuous Improvement.
  • Under supervision, recognize process controls, set up, calibration, and testing of equipment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquisition (ACQ) Trainee duties.

Requirements:

  • Technician/Technologist diploma: college graduate in an electrical, mechanical, or NDE discipline or equivalent related experience (0 to 2 years).
  • Level I NDT Technician with ECT certificate in progress.
  • Up to 70% to 80% site work/travel expected.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to recognize and resolve conflict.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at start of employment is expected to be between $48,000 and $68,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
