Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ergotherapist to join our team in providing home support services to our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating functional abilities, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions to promote optimal autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and/or collect data on functional abilities in accordance with practice and competence
  • Determine a treatment plan
  • Implement individual or group interventions in accordance with practice and program offer
  • Orient and refer clients to appropriate resources
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and prepare statistical reports
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors
  • Participate in program meetings and activities
  • Work in interdisciplinary teams
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Participate in training of students
  • Update skills and knowledge
  • Perform any other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor

Specific Functions

  • Perform necessary home visits to assess functional autonomy
  • Evaluate the need for technical assistance and provide training and follow-up as needed
  • Evaluate the need for technical assistance for walking/posture and take the necessary steps to obtain funding if applicable
  • Evaluate the user's environment in the context of home adaptation and take the necessary steps with the payer organization
  • Refer or collaborate with external establishments and/or community organizations as needed (e.g., rehabilitation center)
  • Participate in the management of the inventory of technical aids loaned to the home
  • Participate as a resource person in special projects related to their field of practice

Requirements

  • Terminal or second-cycle university degree in ergotherapy
  • Member of the Order of Ergotherapists of Quebec
